Sumaiya Bint Laden Personal Life, Family Tree, & More

Sumaiya bin Laden is one of the members of the famous bin Laden family. The name bin Laden is synonymous with terrorism. Sumaiya is the youngest daughter of the late Osama bin Laden and his fifth wife, Siham Sabar. Osama bin Laden was once the founder and leader of the Pan-Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda. This militant organization was behind the 9/11 US attack, which had a worldwide impact.

Personal life of Sumaiya bin Laden

Sumayia bin Laden was born to her father, Osama bin Laden, in 1992, Khartoum, Sudan. Sumaiya’s mother, Siham Sabar, is one of Osama’s three surviving wives. When Osama bin Laden was killed in 2011, his then-19-year-old daughter Sumaiya was living in Iran.

Osama bin Laden and Siham Sabar read their vows to each other in 1987. Siham Saber had worked as a grammar teacher of Arabic language in a university in Saudi Arabia. She had four children with Osama bin Laden. Currently, Siham is living in Afghanistan.

Sumaiya is one of the few members of bin Laden’s family who have publicly expressed support for al-Qaeda. In a 2012 audio recording, she urged Muslims to “follow the path of jihad” and praised her father as a “martyr.” when her father was alive. Sumaiya worked as a public relation manager of the al-Qaeda group. She helped Osama make his public statements.

Family life of Sumayia bin Laden

In 2016, Sumaiya married Abu Abdul Rahman al-Muhajir, a son of Egyptian Islamic Jihad leader Ayman al-Zawahiri, who succeeded bin Laden as the head of al-Qaeda. Sumaiya and her husband have since had two children together.

Not much is known about Sumaiya’s life in Iran. It’s believed that she and her mother were living in Tehran under government protection. In 2018, it was reported that Sumaiya and her family had relocated to Pakistan.

All about Osama bin Laden

In March of 1998, Osama bin Laden issued a fatwa calling for the killing of Americans. At the time, bin Laden was living in Sudan, but he would soon relocate to Afghanistan, where he would establish himself as the leader of a terrorist organization known as al-Qaeda.

In the years that followed, bin Laden would orchestrate several terrorist attacks, including the bombings of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, and the attacks of September 11th, 2001.

In the wake of 9/11, bin Laden became the most wanted man in the world, and a massive manhunt was launched to track him down. In May of 2011, bin Laden was finally killed by U.S. forces in Pakistan.

While bin Laden is no longer alive, the terrorist organization he founded, al-Qaeda, is still very much a threat to the United States and other Western nations.

Conclusion

It’s not clear if Sumaiya is still actively involved in al-Qaeda. However, given her young age and the fact that she is married to a high-ranking member of the terrorist organization, it’s possible that she plays a role in the group’s operations.
