Shayne Ivey was born on January 21, 1987, and is one of the 10 children of the rapper, Coolio. She has a twin sister, Kate Ivey. The rapper has not disclosed the mother names of most of his children. He had 4 children with his ex-wife Josefa Salinas: a son, Artis Ivey III, and 3 daughters named Artisha Ivey, Jackie Ivey, and Brandi Ivey. Artis Leon Ivey Jr, known as Coolio, was born on 1 Aug 1963 in Monessen, Pennsylvania, and was raised mostly in Compton. His mother was a factory worker who divorced his carpenter father and moved to Compton when Ivey was eight years old. Severely asthmatic, Ivey was a regular visitor to his local library as a boy. He started rapping as a teenager, earning the nickname Coolio Iglesias, after Spanish singer Julio Iglesias, which was later shortened to Coolio.
After attending Compton Community College, he worked in jobs such as volunteer firefighting and security at Los Angeles International Airport, before becoming a rapper. On September 28, 2022, the iconic musician passed away from suspected cardiac arrest while at his friend’s home in Los Angeles, California. Coolio was cremated in a private ceremony.
