June Frances Nicholson was born on the 2nd of December 1918. She grew up in Pittsfield, Berkshire County in Massachusetts, USA. There is not much information about the early life of June.
However, Jack revealed in an interview that June was a dancer. Unfortunately, she passed away on the 31st of July 1963, in Los Angeles County, Massachusetts, U.S.A.
June as Jack Nicholson’s Sister
In 1974, Jack Nicholson was producing a movie that was about to premiere in theaters. For this reason, Time Magazine decided to do a piece on the actor for their cover story. An employee of Time Magazine called Jack up after finding some details about his life. He needed clarification to make sure the work will be all facts.
To Jack’s surprise, the reporter wanted clarification about the fact that the woman he thought was his sister, was in fact, his mother. However, Jack denied it as he had no clue about what they were talking about.
By the time the reporters were looking into Jack’s life, his ‘sister’ had already passed away. Similarly, Jack’s ‘mother’ was dead at that time. The ‘sister’ died in 1963 followed by the mother seven years later in 1970.
Jack reached out to his ‘brother-in-law, Shorty, to try and find out the truth from his other sister, who would turn out to be his aunt, Lorraine. According to reports, Shorty had no idea about the family secret.
A few hours later, Shorty called Jack to connect him with Lorraine. She confirmed that Jack was truly her nephew and not brother, contrary to what the actor had known all his life.
Lorraine reported that the family kept the charade to ensure June would continue with her dancing career. She had been pregnant with Jack at sixteen years old. June’s mother took Jack under her care and brought him up as her own.
The then 37-year-old actor revealed that he spent time with his ‘sister’ before she died. June Frances Nicholson died. Reports showed that the cause of her death was cancer.
