Enza Ciccione is the mother of renowned singer Alessia Cara. She was born in the 1960s in Calabria, Italy, and later moved to Canada with her husband Vincenzo Caracciolo. Alessia Cara was born on July 11, 1996, in Mississauga, Ontario. Growing up in Brampton, Ontario, she attended Cardinal Ambrozic Catholic Secondary School. She is the second of four children. Her parents are both immigrants from Italy; her father was born in Canada to Italian parents and her mother is an Italian immigrant. At the age of 13, she began posting covers on YouTube of songs she had been playing since childhood; by the time she was 14 years old, she had accumulated over 300,000 subscribers.
In 2014, she signed with EP Entertainment and Def Jam Recordings and released her debut single, “Here”, after uploading acoustic covers of songs like “Love Yourself” and “Sweater Weather” online.
